Commonly asked questions by SHOPPERS

How often do you have these sales?  Our spring/summer sales are typically in March/April and our fall/winter sales are in August/September of each year.
Are children allowed to shop with me?  Yes, although we will permit children, we encourage you to shop without them so that you can focus on getting the best deals.  These types of sales can get crowded, and it may be easy to lose track of children.
Are the sales located indoors?:  Yes.
Are there any parking fees or entrance fees?  No.
What forms of payment do you accept?  We accept Cash only.
What is your return policy?  All sales are final with no returns.
Can we "try on" the clothing?  Unfortunately, we do not have accommodations for changing rooms.  We suggest that you determine your child's size before you come to the sale.
What items do you sell?  We will be offering girl's clothing (infant thru teen), boy's clothing (infant thru size 20), all season maternity, toys, outdoor/indoor play equipment, linens and bedding, shoes, bedroom decor, baby equipment, books, bikes, videos, and anything else to do with kids!
How much can I expect to save? The more you buy, the more you save!  Of course B.B.'s Closet does not price any of the items, that is up to each of our consignors individually, but typically they price their items at 50% - 75% off of the original retail price.  Also make sure to visit our Half-Price Sale later on Sunday where you can save even more!  As attractive as our half-price sale is, make sure you also shop early on for the best selection.

Are the sales seasonal for clothing?  Yes.  We only sell spring/summer clothing in our March/April sale and fall/winter clothing in our September sale.

Who runs the sales?  B.B.'s Closet is a privately owned company run by three stay-at-home moms.
How can I become a B.B.'s Closet consignor? It's easy.  All you have to do is register, clean, hang/package, and tag your items, and bring them to us.  If you think you might be interested in consigning with us, please take a look at the detailed Consignor Information for more information.

Commonly asked questions by CONSIGNORS (sellers)

Who can consign their items and become a seller?  Anyone can consign their children’s items with B.B.'s Closet.

How much of my sales can I expect to receive?  Sellers receive up to 75% of their sales less a selling fee (to cover facility rent, insurance, advertising, etc.).

How many of my items can I expect to sell?  Most sellers sell approximately 85% of their items in sizes 2-10.  For sizes under 24 months the percentage drops due to the sheer volume of merchandise received and the fact that people tend to receive infant clothing as gifts, hand me downs etc.  The older sizes also will sell a lower percentage as children become pickier as they near the pre-teen years and there is no way to try clothes on. :-)
When do I pick up my unsold items?  Unsold items are to be picked up on the last day of the sale as determined by the Pick Up schedule.  All items not picked up by the end of Pick Up time will be donated.
How will I know how to find my unsold items at pick-up?  Your items will be sorted by Consignor Number for easy pickup.
How long does it take to get my sales earnings? Your check will be mailed within 14 days of the sale.
Will I know what items have sold?  Every seller can view their sold and donated items through our partner tagging system, My Consignment Manager.  Results will be available within 48 hours of the sale.  Donated items may take longer to become available depending on the volume of donations after the sale.
Where do I find things to help me hang my items (i.e. safety pins/hangers)?  Inquire with the local dry cleaners, purchase at the dollar store or other discount stores, or check with freecycle.org, friends, family and your local MOMS Club.  You can also ask the children's apparel stores, like Old Navy, Osh Kosh, and Carters for their leftover hangers.
If I consign my items, do I have to stay during the sale?  No.  You are under no obligation to remain at the sale after you have dropped off your items.  Although consignors are not required to volunteer, our volunteers do receive special benefits to shop the pre-sale first.
How many items can I bring to sell?  There is a 400 item limit on the number of items that you can bring; and we ask that everything fall under the acceptable items list.  You can also only bring 5 of the same exact item (i.e. duplicate item).  Finally, we require that each consigner have a minimum of 15 acceptable items to sell.

Commonly asked questions by VOLUNTEERS

Can anyone sign up as a volunteer?  Yes, anyone may sign up to volunteer on a first come/first serve basis.  Keep in mind that volunteers get special benefits.
Can I volunteer for more than one shift?  Yes, if you volunteer for two shifts, you are entitled to receive an extra preview ticket for a spouse/friend.

How long are the shifts?  Most are four hours although we have made some two-hour shifts available on a limited basis.  In order to earn volunteer benefits, you must volunteer a total of four hours or more (i.e. one four-hour shift or two two-hour shifts).

I'm pregnant or have a medical condition?  If you are pregnant or have a medical condition, you will want to volunteer on Friday afternoons when the workload is less.  We also have a Bartering program.  If you need these positions, please email us with your request after registering and we will try to accommodate.
Can I bring my children with me to volunteer?  Sorry, but only children over 10 may accompany you while you volunteer.
Can I cancel my shift if I have signed up to volunteer?  If a volunteer needs to cancel their shift, they may cancel up to 14 days prior their shift without penalty.  We ask each volunteer to find a backup worker in case of last minute emergencies.  If a volunteer cancels within 14 days of her shift without a replacement, she will be asked to volunteer for an extra penalty shift if she would like to attend the volunteer preview sale in the future.
I would like to earn volunteer benefits, but I cannot volunteer due to schedule or other restrictions.  Are there any other ways to earn these benefits?  You can earn volunteer benefits through bartering opportunities.  Most bartering opportunities involve helping us to promote the sale in some way and we will try to accommodate your needs.  Email us if you'd like to request a bartering opportunity.
